PĂDEANU Marin

In 1996 he graduated “Fraţii Buzeşti” National College in Craiova, section of Mathematics and Physics. Starting from 1997, he attended the Law School within “Titu Maiorescu” University in Bucharest.

He is a lawyer within Dolj Bar Association since 2002 and in March 2003 he decided to become a mediator after participating to a seminar organized at the Dolj Bar Association in collaboration with the Cultural Center of the USA Embassy. In May 2003 he was trained as a mediator by the Ministry of Justice, the USA Embassy in Romania and Dolj Bar Association.

Mr. Pădeanu attended and graduated many other courses in the mediation field between 2004 and 2012, such as: advanced techniques in mediation, trainer of mediators’ trainers, trainer of trainers’ trainers, solving workplace disputes, etc. Some of his trainers were: Kathleen Patterson, Fred Souk, Linda Lazarus, David Michael, Scott Adams, Harlow Case, Melissa Rhea, William Marsh, Bernadine Van Gramberg, Julian Teicher.

In the autumn of 2003 he started his activity as a volunteer mediator at the Pilot Mediation Center in Craiova that was established by an order of the Ministry of Justice through the intermediary of Craiova First Instance Court and Craiova Tribunal with the support of the United States of America Embassy.

Mr. Pădeanu has mediated a large number of cases referred from the courts in Craiova, in the field of civil justice, penal justice, and business.

As a lawyer, he works within the Professional Civil Society of Lawyers "Pădeanu and associations" providing legal assistance in the field of criminal, commercial and administrative law.

Between June 2014 and December 2014, Marin Padeanu coordinated the Consultative Commission of the Professional Body of Mediators, a commission that brings together representatives of professional associations in the field of mediation in Romania.

He held the position of member of the Mediation Council between 2015 and 2019 and between 2020 and 2021 he was director of president's office within the National Authority for Consumers Protection.

Marin Pădeanu is the president of the Propact Mediation and Arbitration Center Association. In this capacity, between June 2018 and February 2020, he managed the national project „Mediation - effective public policy in civic dialogue”, a project that ended with the development and submission to the Ministry of Justice of a public policy document in the field of mediation.
