Corneliu I. Loghin continuously works in Restorative Justice, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Conflict Mediation since 1999 as nationally and internationally recognized case manager and conflict mediator, researcher & social systems, programs and services developer and manager, consultant, academic and vocational trainer, competency examiner and evaluator.
He is one of the very few who pioneered Conflict Mediation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Social and Restorative Justice in Romania; since 1999 he continuously delivered case assistance and management, worked as consultant and developed programs, structures, models, standards, good practices and other specialized norms, training curriculum, course materials and established specialized entities and networks to deliver case assistance and training services in Mediation, ADR and RJ.
From 2000 he was and is an active part in the effort to establish the Romanian Mediation professional system – structures, norms in case management and assistance, training, quality and professional core of service providers; he was a member of the first Mediation Council from 2007 till 2009. - in 2000 he organized and managed the first service to provide conflict mediation assistance, the first adult Restorative Justice, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation adult vocational training system, the first mediation service providers network (with Mediation and Community Safety Center of Iasi, Romania);
- in 2003 he managed a complex project which included the first national promotional campaign for Mediation concept and services and the creation, production and broadcast of the first video clip on this topic – the clip was quite a success while being internationally awarded and latter used for promotion and educational purposes in SUA, Mexico, Spain, Portugal etc. (with Mediation and Community Safety Center of Iasi, Romania and in partnership with Centre for Policy, Planning and Performance and Victim Offender Mediation Association, USA) ;
- in 2005 he proposed and was part in the establishment of the first Masters Degree module in Conflict Mediation (at the Philosophy and Education Sciences Faculty of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza state University of Iasi, Romania) ;
- in 2004 co-founded the first mediation professional association (Professional Mediators Association).
He co-founded - together with US RJ, ADR and Mediation academics and practitioners - the Association for Dialogue and Dispute Resolution of Iași which managed since 2005; he also served as Chair of Programmes Department, Treasurer and Board Member of Victim Offender Mediation Association, USA (since 2003) and as Programmes Director at Centre for Policy, Planning and Performance USA (since 2009).
Since 2000 he assisted a large number of cases covering a wide range of topics while using a large inventory of Restorative Justice and Alternative Dispute Resolution methods and models. He mediated intra and intercultural, civil (home and international trade/commercial, transportation, community, family, property, environment, production, administration, financial, work related, intellectual property etc.) and penal/criminal type cases (involving deeds/behaviors incriminated by imperative norms/laws) while using various models of mediation approaches (open and close facilitative, evaluative, directive, transformative, narrative, hybrid/toolkit, culturally and values based, humanistic, party-directed, severe unbalance of relative power, reconciliation, sensitive, basic and severe crime victim-offender etc.
He designed and managed complex capacity-building projects funded by national and international donors for profit and not-for-profit entities both related and not to the conflict management field.
In addition to his Mediation, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice competencies development (of more than 2,650 hours) he had/has extensive direct experience in automotive engineering, home and foreign trade, adult education, for and not for profit management, social assistance, system and capacity design and building, media; he is Mechanical diplomat engineer / Bachelor of Science - Thermal engines (Polytechnics University of Iasi), Master of Social Sciences (in Conflict Mediation) and PhD in Sociology (Thesis on Restorative Justice and complex assistance of juvenile offenders) (Alexandru Ioan Cuza state University of Iasi, Romania).
He authors and co-authors mediation, ADR and RJ published books, authors several articles, academic and vocational curriculum, courses and manuals. He works as Mediation, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice adult competence academic and vocational developer and evaluator, trainer of mediators and trainer-of-trainers and delivers related presentations.
Since 2000 he is also continuously involved in mediation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Restorative Justice and general conflict management research, system development and adult competence development – he is a nationally and internationally recognized trainer and academic associate with Psychology and Educational Sciences, Philosophy and Social Sciences Department of Sociology and Social Work, University Alexandru Ioan Cuza Iași (since 2005), Sociology and Social Work Faculty, Babeș Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca (since 2010), Sociology and Social Work, P. Andrei University Iași (2006-2011).
