Presentation & Biography

Ciprian Sandu is a professor of conflict studies at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and editor of the academic journal Conflict Studies Quarterly, one of the few academic publications worldwide and the only one in Romania dedicated entirely to the study of conflicts in an interdisciplinary manner. In this capacity, in addition to teaching, he has published a number of articles and studies on topics related to mediation, negotiation and traditional methods of conflict resolution.

Ciprian Sandu is also a trainer in the field of mediation. In this capacity, together with his colleagues from the Transylvanian Mediation Institute, they trained more than 700 mediators.

As a mediator, due to his professional experience as a specialist in conflict management within a football club, Ciprian Sandu focused more on mediating labor and commercial conflicts, mainly related to the contractual relationship between the organization and its collaborators. In addition, as a mediator, Ciprian Sandu was invited, along with colleagues from the Center for Conflict Studies (UBB) to be part of the design team of the Cluj-Napoca 2014-2020 Municipal Development Strategy.
